Location Information
Detailed Access:
-
Entrance Gate: The main driveway is on Ratchadamri Road. However, most pedestrians enter via the 2nd Floor Skywalk connection from BTS Chit Lom, which leads directly into the Erawan Mall and the hotel lobby.
-
Landmarks: Located at the famous Ratchaprasong Intersection, directly across from CentralWorld and Gaysorn Village.
-
The Shrine: The hotel property wraps around the Erawan Shrine (Phra Phrom), one of the most significant spiritual landmarks in Bangkok.
Visitor Essentials:
The Highlight: The Erawan Shrine Connection. The hotel was built on the site of the original Erawan Hotel. The shrine was constructed in 1956 to ward off bad luck during the original construction and remains a focal point. You can view the shrine and traditional dance performances comfortably from the Erawan Tea Room on the 2nd floor if you prefer to stay in the air conditioning.
Dining & Entertainment:
-
Erawan Tea Room: Located on the 2nd floor, it is famous for its Thai Afternoon Tea set, which swaps scones for local delights like Chor Muang (flower-shaped dumplings) and mango sticky rice.
-
Spasso: Located in the Lower Lobby. Formerly known as a nightclub, it has been reinvented as a Parisian-style Italian bistro and bar, though it still features live music in the evenings.
The Vibe: Grand & Bustling. The lobby is impressive, featuring a high glass ceiling, massive trees, and a grand staircase. It feels like a sanctuary of calm luxury, despite sitting right on top of the busiest and noisiest intersection in the city.
Dress Code: Smart Casual.
-
Restaurants: Swimwear, tank tops, and slippers are generally not permitted in the dining outlets like Spasso or the Tea Room.
-
General: As a 5-star city hotel, guests typically dress smartly, especially in the evening.
Opening Hours:
-
Erawan Tea Room: 10:00 – 22:00 Daily.
-
Spasso: 11:30 – 14:30 (Lunch), 17:30 – 22:00 (Dinner).
Rules:
-
Shrine Visibility: While the shrine is on the corner of the property, it is a public space. If you visit the shrine, respect the worshippers; do not stand directly in front of people praying to take selfies.
-
Afternoon Tea: Reservations are highly recommended for the Erawan Tea Room, especially on weekends.
